This page communicates industrialwebapps.com Inc. (IWA) policies for the collection, use and disclosure of personal & corporate information within the Shore application.
Last reviewed on 1-June-2017.
IWA collects only limited personal information (first & last name, company and email address) as they relate to user accounts. Files and data (corporate information) are put into Shore by users so that Shore can perform it's role as an information access hub.
IWA uses personal information only to identify and communicate with individual users. Email addresses may be used to communicate Shore application information to users. For example, password resets are accomplished using the email addresses that we collect.
Corporate information such as the files and data that users put into Shore is made available to other Shore users based upon the security settings that users with elevated permissions configure. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the Shore security model is used in such a way that people are granted appropriate access.
IWA does not share personal information with any third parties.
IWA employees that need to have access to this data for support and troubleshooting purposes are the only ones that can access it.
We use persistent Web Storage (a.k.a. DOM Storage) to manage persistent logins and remember personal preference configurations (for example, the size of the panels in the file explorer).
Web Storage is a method for storing data in a web browser, similar to HTTP-cookies, but without information sent back to the web server. Web Storage is part of the W3C HTML5 specification.
Personal and Corporate information is secured in the following manner:
Individuals may review their personal information held on IWA servers by selecting the "Profile" button which is located near the "Sign out" and "Change password" buttons.
Some customer users and IWA staff with elevated permissions can access all personal & corporate information held within the shore application.
All users could potentially access the first/last name and email address of any other user since this information is displayed in various locations as part of the application design.
