IWA Privacy Policy

This page communicates  industrialwebapps.com  Inc. (IWA) policies for the collection, use and disclosure of personal & corporate information within the Shore application.

Collected Information

IWA collects only limited personal information (first & last name, company and email address) as they relate to user accounts. Files and data (corporate information) are put into Shore by users so that Shore can perform it's role as an information access hub.

How Information is Used

IWA uses personal information only to identify and communicate with individual users. Email addresses may be used to communicate Shore application information to users. For example, password resets are accomplished using the email addresses that we collect.

Corporate information such as the files and data that users put into Shore is made available to other Shore users based upon the security settings that users with elevated permissions configure. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the Shore security model is used in such a way that people are granted appropriate access.

Information Sharing

IWA does not share personal information with any third parties.

IWA employees that need to have access to this data for support and troubleshooting purposes are the only ones that can access it.

IWA employees are governed by IWA's privacy policy.

Cookies/Web Storage

Other than Google Analytics (discussed below), we do not currently make use of cookies and do not anticipate the need to do so. Should that change in the future we will only use cookies to improve the functionality of the application and not for any sort of user tracking purposes.

We use persistent Web Storage (a.k.a. DOM Storage) to manage persistent logins and remember personal preference configurations (for example, the size of the panels in the file explorer).

Web Storage is a method for storing data in a web browser, similar to HTTP-cookies, but without information sent back to the web server. Web Storage is part of the W3C HTML5 specification.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyse how visitors use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Accessing your Information

Individuals may review their personal information held on IWA servers by selecting the "Profile" button which is located near the "Sign out" and "Change password" buttons.

Some customer users and IWA staff with elevated permissions can access all personal & corporate information held within the shore application.

All users could potentially access the first/last name and email address of any other user since this information is displayed in various locations as part of the application design.

General Information

IWA reserves the right to amend this policy from time to time. Notwithstanding the above, the collection, use, and disclosure of personal & corporate information may be made other than described above to the extent provided for in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and other relevant legislation in effect from time to time. These exemptions include, without limitation, publicly available information, information disclosed for criminal or civil investigations, or compliance with law or court orders. IWA may also disclose personal information to another entity purchasing the assets of IWA provided that entity abides by this or a similar privacy policy.
